Main Purpose of Job
The Regional Coordinator's position ensures Family Investment Program (FIP) services and benefits are authorized by local departments of social services staff in accordance with applicable federal, State and local laws, regulations, policies and procedures. This position provides technical support and assistance to the local departments in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all Family Investment Program performance indicators.
POSITION DUTIES
Requires travel throughout the State and often requires overnight stays (must have valid driver's license and vehicle). Monitors, analyzes and evaluates local department Family Investment Programs. Monitors and tracks of the local department success in having Temporary Cash Assistance recipients participate in work activities, identifying the systematic individual reasons participation in work activities is not occurring.
This position advocates for the local department needs and acts to resolve the local department and central office areas of concern. Coordinates meetings with local department management staff and monitors the local departments performance indicators to ensure follow up corrective action is taken as appropriate. Performs on-site case reviews for accuracy and timely delivery of benefits and services. Prepares and conducts the Food Supplement Management Evaluation (FSME) Technical Assistance reviews/reports and makes recommendations for corrective actions .
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must meet BOTH the minimum qualifications AND the selective qualification listed below for approval.

EDUCATION: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
EXPERIENCE: Three years of experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations.
NOTES:
1. Additional professional or technical experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Education at the graduate level at an accredited college or university in a human services related field may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester hours per year for up to two years of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Administrative Officer classifications and Administrative Officer specialty codes in the General, Administrative, Clerical, and Officer Services field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
One year of the above minimum qualification experience must have been in a FAMILY INVESTMENT PROGRAM.
Candidates must possess this selective qualification for approval. There are no substitutions for this experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in MARYLAND Family Investment programs.
Experience coordinating schedules and conducting meetings.
