St. Mary's County Health Department, Division of Public Health Preparedness and Response, Leonardtown, Maryland

Main Purpose of Job

This position will be responsible for using independent judgement in scheduling and coordinating meetings, answering phones, researching and compiling data and charts, analyzing and interpreting data to apply regulations and standards, and assisting the Program Administrator with various grant requirements in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Tri-County Southern Maryland Regional Syringe Services Program in St. Mary's, Charles, and Calvert counties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.

Experience: None

Notes:  

1. Candidates may substitute one year of experience in administrative or professional work for the required education, at the rate of one year of experience for 30 credit hours, for up to 60 credit hours of the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies  on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The preferred candidate for this position should possess the following:

  • experience with HIPPA, specifically the understanding and/or application of confidentiality laws and policies
  • experience managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced, goal/solutions oriented work environment
  • experience with MS Word and MS Excel

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
