LOCATION OF POSITION
DHMH/Worcester County Health Department, Behavioral Health Unit, Snow Hill, Maryland
Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to direct the programmatic and administrative activities of the Behavioral Health (BH) Program for the Worcester County Health Department (WCHD). This position will coordinate and supervise all facets of the Substance Abuse Program, including developing/implementing policy and procedures (i.e. eligibility criteria, BH intake/admission and discharge process, etc.). This position will also provide supervision of BH staff by facilitating team clinical staffing/team meetings, individual and group supervision of staff. This employee will be responsible for the documentation and reporting, (i.e. monitor, document, and oversee clerical support functions, developing fiscal procedures related to the BH program policy/procedures, etc.). This position is considered Emergency Essential and may be required to work evening and/or weekend hours.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for Certified Professional Counselors-Alcohol and Drug.
Experience: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for Certified Professional Counselors-Alcohol and Drug.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. In accordance with Health Occupations Title 17 and Code of Maryland Regulations 10.58.07, candidates placed in this classification must be either certified or licensed by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists as a Certified Professional Counselor-Alcohol and Drug or Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor. ***A copy of your current licensure should accompany your completed application.***
2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
