Introduction

This recruitment is limited to current Maryland State employees only.

This is a position specific recruitment for the Department of Natural Resources, Finance and Administrative Services. This recruitment will be used to fill current vacancies for the position and may be used to fill future vacancies in the same classification/function. Future vacancies may also be filled via other recruitments. The resulting eligible list will be maintained for one year.

Main Purpose of Job

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Finance and Administrative Services, is currently accepting applications for a Services Supervisor II. This position supervises the daily mailroom operations for DNR and assists the Manager of Supportive Services and Fleet Operations with all daily services and operations of the Department's pool vehicle system as well as providing backup to the Supportive Services unit. This position is also responsible for coordinating with the Licensing and Regulation Service unit in renewing DNR boat registrations and obtaining boat registration stickers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years supervisory experience in general services functions, office administration activities or in the receiving, storing, issuance, purchase or requisition of equipment, materials, and parts and supplies.

Notes:

1. Additional experience in general services functions, office administration activities or in the receiving, storing, issuance, purchase or requisition of equipment, materials, and parts and supplies may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in logistics specialist classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the logistics field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants that possess the following.  Include clear and specific information on your application regarding the qualification(s):

1.One year of experience evaluating vehicles to determine what routine maintenance is needed and work with vendors to repair items that need to be fixed by mechanics or be able to repair the items themselves.

2. Experience dealing with dissatisfied customers.

3. Experience managing employees and applying progressive discipline.
