Main Purpose of Job

This position serves as the Data Integration Manager of the Office of Grants, Policy and Statistics responsible for integrating operational knowledge and technological solutions in planning, designing, developing and implementing new database applications and reports, and utilizing technology to integrate data from multiple systems and data structures into meaningful reports for decision-making purposes. This position also serves as project manager for the Research and Statistics Unit responsible for coordination with data analyst staff to ensure timely delivery of information required by Departmental business units.

POSITION DUTIES

Plan, design and develop database applications to aid operational efficiency and effectiveness based on needs of the end users while ensuring that reporting needs of managers are also met. Evaluate and resolve technical issues as needed

Write code in third generation programming languages and supports programs previously developed that are outside of the Offender Management System (e.g. Case Management Screener, SAOM Staffing Analysis and Overtime Manager)

Prepare documentation of new applications and provide training, oversight and guidance to end users. Provide expert technical advice and guidance to information technology staff such as programmers, database specialists, vendors and supervisory personnel and to department management regarding future directions, customization, software, and hardware enhancement.

Develop reports from Offender Management System for any business unit within the Department and where necessary integrates data sets from multiple systems to provide the needed information in those reports.

Utilize operational knowledge to analyze the data contained in the reports generated and troubleshoot to identify problems with queries or syntax used to generate the reports.

Interact with operational staff to discuss anomalies found in the data and determine  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Public Administration or Criminal Justice.

Experience: Four years of experience in database management, research and statistical analysis and database development.

Note:

1.    Additional related work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2.    Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year to year basis for the required general experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet the minimum and selective qualifications to be considered.

One year of experience with SQL and SPSS
