 This is a position specific recruitment for the Department of Natural Resources, Fisheries Service in Annapolis, MD.  This recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies for this position/function only.  The resulting eligible list will be maintained for one year.  Persons interested in future vacancies within this classification must re-apply.

Main Purpose of Job

The Department of Natural Resources, Fishing and Boating Services Unit in Annapolis, Maryland, is currently accepting applications for an Administrative Program Manager I. This position reports directly to the Fishing and Boating Services Division Director and provides fiscal and management services to the Unit. The incumbent is responsible for managing the preparation, monitoring and analyses of the Unit's $25 million annual operating budget and $8 million Capital budget, including federal grants and intra- and inter-agency financial Memorandum of Understanding. Additionally, the incumbent supervises 5 Division staff and oversees the Unit's administrative duties to support a Fisheries Service work force of 150 full time and 20 seasonal positions located at 13 field offices across Maryland.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

For education obtained outside of the U.S., you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service. If you possess a degree obtained outside of the United States, please submit a detailed, course-by-course evaluation report from one of the U.S. equivalency evaluating members identified at http://www.naces.org/members.htm with the application.

Education:  A Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant field of financial management, accounting, business administration, or public administration.  
 
Experience: Two years of experience in budget development and reconciliation.  One or more years of the above experience must be supervisory experience.
 
Notes: 
Any equivalent combination of the above noted education and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualification requirements. 

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong preference will be given to applicants that possess the following.  Include clear and specific information on your application regarding the qualification(s).

One or more years of experience working with the State of Maryland capital budget is preferred.
