Main Purpose of Job

This position is a contractual position funded by the Enhanced Assessment Grant - Kindergarten Entry Assessment (EAG-KEA) and is responsible for gathering, compiling, analyzing and reporting data related to assessment activities for all early learning and development programs in the use of formative assessment, and specifically, the operations of the Kindergarten Entry Assessment (KEA).

POSITION DUTIES

Provides technical assistance for the Enhanced Assessment Grant – Kindergarten Entry Assessment (EAG-KEA). Identifies, extracts, cleans, transforms, and loads data sets received from internal and external sources for inclusion within the ECDW and/or the LDS, particularly data sets related to student assessments and associated outcome measures.  Analyze and identify all data structures and data locations in imported data sets.  Document all ETL processes and scripts applied to the data. Creates, updates, and maintains data extracts from the ECDW and/or the LDS databases for use by DECD, other Divisions within MSDE, or other agencies. Document the steps necessary to create each data extract.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:  A Master’s Degree or equivalent 36 credit hours of post Baccalaureate course work in Education, Educational Administration or related field.  

EXPERIENCE:  Four (4) years of professional experience in coordinating or administering an education program or service directly related to Early Childhood.  

NOTE:  Two additional years of experience as defined may substitute for the Master’s Degree.

BENEFITS

Contractual employees who works for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program (the Program), have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents.  As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
