POSITION DUTIES

The Comptroller of Maryland's Information Technology Division's Client Services team is looking for an individual with initiative, autonomy, and ability to fill our Client Services Manager's position. This individual will be responsible for managing and further developing customer support, customer relationships, as well as educating them on our services. Additionally, the Client Services Manager will partner with a variety of teams internally to ensure end user/client satisfaction This individual will be part of a team but act as single point of contact for daily client support of mission-critical end user devices and desktop software components supporting the Agency's Annapolis, MD office.

PLEASE NOTE:  All ITD employees are available for on-call support. As such, this position is required to occasionally work an off-hour schedule, weekdays prior to 7:30 a.m. and / or after 5:00 p.m., weekends, and holidays.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A minimum of a  Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience or advanced Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.

Experience: A minimum of 4 years of client services/technical support experience in a client facing role required.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years experience Basic OS X command line tools.
  • 3 years experience in supporting Networked printers.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent communication and client presentation skills; verbal, written, and telephone.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language to non-technical staff and users.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows  2008 and 2012 operating systems.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Understanding of industry's best practices.
  • Ability to continuously improve process, procedures and focus on efficiency.
  • A/V experience (e.g. projectors and TVs,

EXAMINATION PROCESS

Only applicants who meet the minimum and selective qualifications for this recruitment will be considered for this opportunity. The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training and experience. Qualifying applicants are subject to an oral interview. Prior to appointment, the employee must successfully undergo a comprehensive background investigation including a review of criminal, MVA and tax records; and determination of legal authorization to work in the United States or under the United States Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. Upon initial appointment OR promotion to a position in the State Personnel Management System, an employee is required to serve an initial six month probationary period. This probationary period may be extended an additional six months under certain circumstances at the discretion of the appointing authority.
