Under the direct supervision of an Occupational Therapist, this position will implement and provide direct services in the form of group or individual therapy to persons with severe and persistent mental illness. This position will function as a member of the treatment team and make recommendations to supervising OT regarding re-evaluations of patients' level of functioning. This position will also provide supervision of OT fieldwork students (interns).

Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice under the licensing requirements for Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistants.

Experience: Two years of experience as a Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant.

Note:  Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Therapy Assistant classifications or Therapy Assistant specialty codes in the Occupation Therapy field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. 

1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from the Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice, Spring Grove Hospital Center, 55 Wade Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21228.  A copy of license or license number must accompany application.

2. Employees in these classifications may be required to successfully complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and maintain current certification.

3. Employees in these classifications may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
