This position assists the Program Manager of the Breast and Cervical Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Program to prepare for an upcoming legislative audit by evaluating and updating current policies and procedures and reviewing legislative audit related reports such as nurse override reports and Tripwire reports on a monthly basis. This position also assists the Program Manager and other designated staff with BCCDT provider revalidation and recouping BCCDT funds spent for participants that are found to have Medicaid, Medicare, or commercial insurance coverage. In addition, this position will train the Assistant Program Manager re: audit reports and requirements as well as Medicaid and third-party recoup.

Education:   A Master’s degree in Nursing or a health-related field from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Five years of experiences as a Registered Nurse including two years of experience in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity.

NOTES:

1.  A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or health-related field from an accredited college or university and two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity may be substituted for the required education.

2.  A PhD in Nursing from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two years of the required experience.

3.  Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officer in Nursing classification or Nursing specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education. 

This position requires a working knowledge regarding the Breast and Cervical Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Program as well as experience evaluating and responding to audit findings and performing provider credentialing.  Knowledge regarding the Breast and Cervical Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Program is desirable.

1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215.

2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

Contractual employees who works for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program (the Program), have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents.  As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
