Main Purpose of Job

This position works in collaboration with the LHIC Director and the Director of the HCHD Bureau of Health Promotion to direct all programmatic operations of the Local Health Improvement Coalition (LHIC) and to directly supervise (2) Coordinators of Special Program II and indirectly supervise (1) Behavioral Health Coordinator, each being assigned to 1-3 specific LHIC workgroup(s). Supervision will include, but is not limited to, the planning and managing of all workgroup activities with each Coordinator. This position will also assist in developing LHIC policies, procedures, guidance, and budgets and in implementing rules, regulations and standards of operations for LHIC and its organizational members. This position will represent the LHIC at promotional events and serve as a liaison in building community partnerships and outreach to local and State partners. This position will supervise non-clinician staff in the Bureau of Health Promotion.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling, or a related field.

Experience: Six years professional experience in health services, three of which must have been in professional clinical or administrative services in areas other than Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities or Addictions, and two years of which must have been at the managerial or supervisory level.

Notes: 1. Applicants may substitute a master’s or Doctoral degree in a health or human services field for up to two years of the required general experience.

2. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field plus an additional year of professional experience in health services may be substituted for the specific degree.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Health Services Administration specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience managing administrative operations for a program; including membership recruitment, retention and management, and organizational skills when given multiple projects and deadlines. 

- Experience with website data management.  (e.g. Joomla, Wordpress)

- Experience with social media communications.  (e.g. Facebook, Twitter)

- Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software applications, like Word, Outlook, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint.
