Main Purpose of Job

This position provides support and oversight for youth prevention, especially related to youth access to tobacco products and tobacco retailer education/compliance activities within the Center for Tobacco Prevention and Control (CTPC). CTPC carries out tobacco cessation and prevention through statewide initiatives, as well as through providing funding to Local Health Departments and other partners throughout the state. The CSP IV will oversee efforts of Local Health Department compliance grants and other statewide outreach, providing technical assistance, establishing priorities, developing performance standards, monitoring budgets and performance, and conducting site reviews.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling or a related field.

Experience: Five years of professional experience in health services, two years of which must have been in professional clinical or administrative work in health or medical services in areas other than Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities or Addictions.

Notes:

1. Applicants may substitute a master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a health or human service field for one year of the required general experience.

2. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field plus one additional year of professional experience in health services may be substituted for the specific degree.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
