DHMH/Worcester County Health Department, Snow Hill, Maryland

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position will be to coordinate and/or oversee the behavioral health service delivery system for Worcester County and/or Wicomico County. This position will link consumers with appropriate services, monitor the service delivery, provide case consultation to service providers, and assist in the planning and evaluation functions of the Core Service Agency (CSA) as related to service delivery. This position will also be responsible for assisting with implementation of the Homeless ID project, including being the SSI/SSDI Outreach Access and Recovery (SOAR) lead for the lower Eastern Shore, the Path program, and the Shelter Plus Care Program. The incumbent must be able to work and travel to all sites of the Worcester County Health Department, as well as be willing to travel to areas outside of Worcester County for program monitoring, program implementation, state wide meetings and/or trainings related to job functions and system management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Counseling or a related field.

Experience: Five years of professional experience in Health Services, two years of which must have been in health or medical services in areas other than Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, or Addictions.

Notes:

1. Applicants may substitute a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a health or human service field for one year of the required general experience.

2. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field plus one additional year of professional experience in health services may be substituted for the specific degree.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
