Main Purpose of Job

The Real Estate Board Licensing Supervisor provides leadership and direction to this unit with issuing licenses and other related licenses changes for members of this commission. Additionally, it supports the Director and Assistant Director of the Real Estate Commission on correcting any issues, complaints, or concerns.

POSITION DUTIES

The position responsibilities are as follows:

  • Supervises the Licensing Unit.
  • Verifies cash deposits.
  • Maintains Logs of license issuance.
  • Coordinates phone coverage and assists with walk-in customers.
  • Assists the Director and Assistant Director to correct issues, problems, errors, and complaints regarding issuance of licenses.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: One (I) year experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Limited to Current Permanent and Contractual State Employees ONLY

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

All candidates are subject to a background check against files maintained by the Division of Unemployment Insurance (DLLR/DUI) to determine whether any monies are owed to the agency as a result of an unemployment insurance overpayment and/or fraud.  Any unpaid debt may have an impact on an offer of employment with DLLR.

Candidates will receive a score of Best, Better, or Qualified  from a rating and scoring of the application.  Applicants within each band will be in random order.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit

A copy of your proof of eligibility (DD 214) for Veterans’ Credit must be in this office and completely verified before Veterans’ Credit will be approved.  Permanent State employees do not need to submit proof of eligibility for Veterans’ Credit.
