Main Purpose of Job

The Department of Natural Resources, Boating Services Unit, Boat Tax Enforcement Division, is currently accepting applications for two Seasonal Contractual positions. These positions will assist other Boat Tax Investigators and the Program Director in the investigation and enforcement of procedures and policies that ensure compliance with Maryland’s State Boat Act. Applicants must have a working knowledge of vessel operation and vessel trailering.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This recruitment does not require any additional materials to be uploaded with the exception of the foreign degree evaluation (if applicable). Your qualifications will be assessed based on the information included on your submitted application.

Education: Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.

Experience: One year of experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute experience as defined above for the required education at the rate of one year of experience for 30 credit hours, for up to 60 credit hours of required education.

2. Candidates may substitute 90 credit hours at an accredited college or university for the required education and experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

For education obtained outside of the U.S., you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service. If you possess a degree obtained outside of the United States, please submit a detailed, course-by-course evaluation report from one of the U.S. equivalency evaluating members identified at http://www.naces.org/members.htm.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong preference will be given to applicants that possess the following.  Include clear and specific information on your application regarding the qualification(s).

Knowledge of vessel operation and vessel trailering is preferred.
