LOCATION OF POSITION

New Germany State Park- Grantsville, MD (Garrett County)

Main Purpose of Job

The Department of Natural Resources, Maryland Park Service, New Germany State Park, Garrett County, Maryland is currently accepting applications for three (3) Seasonal Concession Workers. These positions will be a 4 month contractual positions working up to 24 hours per week during the winter of 2016/2017 (December 2016-March 2017). These positions will provide customer service to park visitors including the sale of food and drink items, sale of merchandise, and rental of ski and snowshoe equipment. Applicants must have excellent customer service skills. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: None.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong preference will be given to applicants that possess the following. Include clear and specific information on your application regarding the qualification(s).

Experience with cash register operation and cash handling is preferred.

BENEFITS

Contractual employees who works for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program (the Program), have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents.  As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
