Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to handle recruitment and hiring for various departments within the facility. Duties will include, but are not limited to the following: tracking/posting of vacant positions; maintaining reports/spreadsheets; participating in various recruitment activities (i.e. job fairs, networking events); screening applications and applicants; arranging interviews and organizing panels; and hiring/processing new hires, transfers, and promotions by utilizing current applicant tracking system. This position will also assist in the development and implementation of various employee retention initiatives, ensure hiring managers are properly trained on recruitment/hiring practices, and conduct training during New Employee Orientation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of general clerical or administrative support experience at least one year of which must have been paraprofessional personnel experience involving the application of public sector procedures, policies, rules and regulations to specific employment actions. Appropriate paraprofessional personnel experience should have included responsibility for activities such as, preparing and maintaining employment records, calculating salaries, applying and interpreting rules and policies, preparing personnel-related reports, counseling employees regarding benefits and obligations, and responding to inquiries concerning employment actions.

Note:

1. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in human resources assistance classification or human resources assistance specialty codes in the human resources management field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired or preferred candidate will possess customer service and professional human resources/personnel experience.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
