Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to perform a variety of complex and independent clerical and/or administrative duties. This position requires an understanding of office procedures and the ability to initiate them independently while maintaining an amiable relationship with other employees and the public.  This position will also require knowledge of all departmental programs as they relate to the Department mission of preserving, protecting and promoting the health of all who live, work and play in Anne Arundel County. As the Site Coordinator, for both locations, this position is responsible for the day to day operations of the Glen Burnie and Parole Health Centers. This position will function on behalf of the Central Services Officer in his/her absence and coordinate with the Central Services Administrator and the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Program Manager whenever there is a building or property concern. The position requires the knowledge of various clinical services offered by the department and functions as the manager of the health centers maintaining amiable relationships with employees and the public.  This position wil assure the following: the health centers are opened each workday and secured at the end of each workday; notifies and resolves cleaning issues with the cleaning staff; settles facility issues regarding maintenance by coordinating facility repairs and contacts appropriate vendors per direction from the Central Facilities Administrator.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.  

Experience:Four years of experience performing clerical duties.  

Notes: 1. Additional experience performing clerical duties may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.  

2. Applicants may substitute education from an accredited college or university at the rate of thirty semester credit hours for one year of experience on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.  

3.Six months clerical training with three courses in subjects such as keyboarding, clerical math, word processing, spreadsheets, database, graphics presentation, proofreading, or office etiquette may be substituted for six months of the required experience.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the administrative support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
