Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to provide secretarial support to the Hearing Officers and Commissioners.
POSITION DUTIES
Providing supervisory responsibility at an offsite location for IPA I and IPA II’s working at DPSCS facilities which includes:
· Coordinating all work schedules to meet required time frames and deadlines for task completion
· Preparing weekly activity reports regarding office activities for review by Commission Headquarters Management
· Ensuring that timekeeping and personnel related matters are promptly addressed
· Ensuring that fleet usage and maintenance are monitored and maintained
· Ensuring that unit policies and procedures are maintained and updated as needed
· Providing training to newly assigned IPA’s
· Completing PEP evaluations in a timely efficient manner
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years of experience interviewing inmates and preparing case files for parole hearings.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.
Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Persons appointed to positions in this classification may be required to have access to a motor vehicle. Standard mileage will be paid.
2. Persons may be required to work at other institutions whenever workload levels warrant.
