Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to perform a wide variety of warehouse duties in order to adequately supply and equip the Department of Maryland State Police with the appropriate supplies and equipment that are necessary to accomplish its mission. This warehouse has approximately 1800 commodities, valued at approximately 2.8 million dollars.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Four years of experience in receiving, storing and issuing supplies, materials or equipment in a storeroom, warehouse or other supply storage facility.

Note:

1. Additional experience as described above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four years of the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in logistics specialist classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the logistics or unit supply field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidates for this position will be subject to a physical examination and a complete criminal background investigation to include a polygraph examination before a permanent appointment can be made.  A criminal conviction may be grounds for rejection of the candidate.

SELECTION PROCESS

The selection for this process will involve a review of each application.  Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be placed on an eligible list in the BEST, BETTER or QUALIFIED category.  The list will be used by the hiring manager to select the individual to fill the vacancy.
