Main Purpose of Job

Installs, repairs and maintains plumbing systems fixtures, and equipment for water, heating air conditioning, sewer, and drainage systems such as pipe, fittings, pumps, valves, steam converters, water closets, heaty coils, and steam traps at the Fifth Regiment Armory.  The Armory is a 419,552 square feet building that serves as the Headquarters of the Maryland National Guard and Maryland Military Department.   Incumbent will assist with other general, repairs to the existing infrastructure. Incumbent will also, maintain plumbing and heating components of 42 Maryland Army National Guard Facilities, including 342 buildings, one operational airfield and four Military Training sites.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of the eighth grade.

Experience: Two years experience as a journeyman plumber, one year of which includes installing and repairing sanitary plumbing appliances.

Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in utilities repair classifications or construction and engineering specialty codes in the plumbing field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Possession of a Maryland Journeyman/Gas Fitter License is required
