This position will serve as staff to the Bureau of Community Health Promotion to serve with professional responsibility for health education projects. The incumbent will learn to design further public health awareness and understanding within multiple program areas such as The Partnership for a Healthier Carroll County, Inc., Injury Prevention, Safe Kids, Child Passenger Safety, Highway Safety, and Senior Community Services, such as Caring Carroll, Inc. The incumbent will also plan, develop, and implement appropriate public health projects for these populations that are in need of services and health education through obtaining and utilizing health-related data.

Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health Education, Community Health Education or Health Science.

Experience: None.

Notes: 

1. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 18 credit hours in Public Health Education, Community Health Education, Health Science or related behavioral science and one year of experience in planning, developing, implementing and promoting health education projects may be substituted for the minimum education requirements.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Educator and Community Health classifications or Health Educator and Community Health specialty codes in the Public Health field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

The successful applicant should have experience conducting presentations.

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland
