Main Purpose of Job

This position is assigned to the Central Distribution Center to produce print, process and distribute output from the Department of Human Resources (DHR) automated systems statewide to include client letters, benefits, various DHR administration's notices, and system reports.

POSITION DUTIES

Prepares input (data disks, labels and/or custom designated mailings and inserts) to use with particular job runs; identifies job to be printed from queue; selects and indicates file to effectively manage the print job; reviews operating instructions, special job/program instructions, and adjust equipment as necessary to process output; operates Xerox Nuvera 288 Digital Perfecting System Printer to produce reports, letters and client benefits as well as special department's mailings; monitors equipment in operation for adjustments in making changes if necessary (in accordance with prescribed limitations) to continue operations in readability of output; operates auto folder to fold inserts being mailed with clients' notices; processes all client notices, program output and special mailings using high speed mail inserting systems; separates output reports for distribution within DHR Central, Local Departments and Local Health Departments; types labels and letters as needed for distribution purposes; maintains a daily distribution list for 60 DHR destinations; documents all reports received, printed and distributed; packages, seals and weighs all reports for United Parcel Service for pick-up; operates go-kart to transport packages (reports) being sent via UPS; utilizes UPS Tracking System to verify mailing and delivery of reports to track delays; performs routine service checks and maintenance to insure the cleanliness and efficient operation of Central Distribution Center equipment; performs BARR-RJE System Remote (245) Back-ups; maintains postage used and volume of material mailed for audits; performs a manual inventory on a routine basis to provide for an uninterrupted supply of needed material such as paper, varying sizes of envelopes, ink and specific forms and inserts; prepares requisitions to maintain appropriate supply inventories; and may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Please describe in detail any job duties relating to the minimum qualifications stated below and include any computer software experience (Excel, CHESSIE, PowerPoint, Word etc.) used in the each of the positions you held.

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of experience scheduling or setting up data processing jobs for production, controlling data input and output or maintaining a tape library for multipurpose, multi-tasking computers.

Note:

1.  Experience operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry, word processing or maintaining information or performing clerical work involving reconciliation of data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2.  Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Computer Clerk and Assistant classifications or Computer Clerk and Assistant specialty codes in the General, Administrative, Clerical, and Office Services field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

1. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
2. Ability to work independently, under a variety of emergency conditions.
3. Experience working/coordinating successfully and diplomatically on complex projects involving multiple partners and objectives.
4. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
5. Experience with researching, analyzing and reporting information.
6. Experience with BARR-RJE System (RMT-245), Xerox Nuvera 288 Digital Perfecting System Printer, Pitney Bowes (FPS-12) Flexible Productivity Series Mailing Machine, UPS World Shipment Exchange Software, Dell Optiplex 320 Computer, BAUM 714 MP Auto Fold fast folding machine, and E-Z Go Cart.
7. Ability to lift up to 40 pound paper boxes.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
