Main Purpose of Job
Located on Maryland’s Eastern Shore in Dorchester County is the Eastern Shore Hospital Center. This facility is an Acute Inpatient Psychiatric facility that provides psychiatric clinical services to approximately 80 clients.
The ESHC has current openings for Psychiatrist Clinical staff. These positions work day shift with the ability to work week nights and weekends as an O.D. with additional compensation. These positions provide full state benefits to include: paid leave, health insurance, pension, tort claims and moving expenses as available. Due to the federal designation as an underserved area, loan repayment may be available.
1. Possession of a degree in medicine from an accredited college or university.
2. Applicants must be board certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
NOTE: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Medical Corpsman and Physicians classifications or Nursing or Physician and Medical Services and Special Corpsman Officer specialty codes in the medicine field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Applicants must be board certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
2. Applicants must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Physicians to practice medicine under Maryland State Law. A copy of a current Maryland medical license and board certification should be attached to the application.
Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
