Main Purpose of Job
This position manages the statewide License Plate Recognition (LPR) Program within the Maryland Coordination and Analysis Center. The position is responsible for facilitating the central collection of scanned LPR data collected by Maryland law enforcement, providing a common infrastructure used to query the data in support of criminal investigations, public safety and for the protection of critical infrastructure.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION - Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four year college or university.
EXPERIENCE - Five years of experience in program management with at least two years in the development and management of a law enforcement (police) program which included significant use of data collection and analysis. This experience should have also included using data collected to prepare detailed reports, charts, graphs and/or maps and make timely recommendations.
NOTE - Candidates may substitute additional experience in program management on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Employees are subject to call 24 hours a day and, therefore, are required to provide the Department with a telephone or pager number where they can be reached.
2. In accordance with Section 2-204 (b) (6) of the Public Safety Article, candidates for positions in this classification are subject to an initial drug screening and a complete criminal background investigation to include a polygraph examination before permanent appointment can be made. A criminal conviction may be grounds for rejection of the candidate.
SELECTION PROCESS
