Main Purpose of Job

Performs tasks associated with the maintenance of grounds, infrastructure and grounds maintenance equipment at the three State veterans memorials.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: None.

Experience: None.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong preference will be given to applicants that possess the following:

Landscaping experience in a public or commercial facility setting;

Experience with the application of pesticides in a public or commercial facility setting;

Experience operating out-front rotary mowers.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this classification may be subject to call-in 24 hours a day and, therefore, may be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where they can be reached.

EXAMINATION PROCESS

The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training, and experience as presented on your application and as they relate to the requirements of the position.  You may be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire.  Therefore, it is important that you provide complete and accurate information on your application.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
