LOCATION OF POSITION

Lanham, Maryland

POSITION DUTIES

DHCD is looking for a Manager of Mortgage Insurance Accounting to prepare GAAP financial statements, disclosures and supervision of staff.  Tasks will involve account reconciliations, journal entries, improvements to financial systems and managing the year end independent audit.  Applicants should have knowledge of governmental accounting, financial statement preparation and accounting for real estate.  Applicants should have initiative and be able to make decisions, knowledge in GAAP pronouncements, possess good financial, analytical and communications skills and be able to work independently.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ARE REQUIRED.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Three years of experience with financial statement preparation and supervising.

Note: Additional experience as described above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA license
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Accounting experience in real estate
