LOCATION OF POSITION

7275 Waterloo Road, Jessup, MD 20794.

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of the position is to properly bill customers for goods and services provided by MCE.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Please read carefully. Minimum qualifications and Selective qualifications are REQUIRED. Please provide UNOFFICIAL COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS to verify your education. If you do not meet this criteria your application will not be considered.

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of experience reviewing, verifying, recording, adjusting and balancing financial transactions.

Notes:

1. Experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required high school education.

2. Six credit hours in accounting from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

3. A minimum of five courses or six months of accounting-related training in a vocational training program in subjects such as journalizing transactions, analyzing transactions into debits and credits, posting to a general ledger, payroll, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in Financial Clerical/Finance Technicians classifications or specialty codes in the financial field of work at a rate of one year of military experience for the required experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate must possess 2 years of experience in billing and collections, if not using an education substitution.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience in account reconciliation.

2. Experience in processing data related to high volume of sales, billings and customer accounts.

3. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.

SELECTION PROCESS

Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be evaluated. The evaluation may be a rating of your Application based on your Education, Training and Experience as it relates to the requirements of the position. Therefore, it is essential that you provide complete and accurate information on your Application. Please report all related Education, Experience, dates and hours of work. For education obtained outside the U.S., a copy of the Equivalent American Education as determined by a Foreign Credential Evaluation service MUST accompany the Application. If you are using education to substitute the required experience, you MUST submit UNOFFICIAL COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS to verify your education.

All information concerning your Qualifications must be submitted by the closing date. We will not consider information submitted after this date. Applicants certified to list will receive eligibility for a period of one (1) year. Eligibility may be extended beyond one (1) year period.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
