Main Purpose of Job

The Department of Information Technology (DoIT) is seeking a candidate to direct and manage its statewide End User Service and Support operation. The incumbent is responsible for the cost effective operation and management of end user assets, including LANs and end user devices, as well as DoIT's end user technical support operation. The incumbent will provide direction by developing, implementing and maintaining policies, procedures and standards as they relate to each area of responsibility and the effective management and oversight of assigned resources. This position serves as the subject matter expert and advisor to DoIT senior management regarding statewide information technology infrastructure, operations, enterprise and data security, and represents the Department in official matters related to information management and technology. This is a management service position that will serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:    Candidate should possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline with IT focus.            

Experience:   Candidate must have a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience supporting end users and associated data networks in a highly distributed, enterprise environment. Candidate must have at least three (3) years’ experience managing an enterprise operation responsible for the delivery of end user services in accordance with established service levels.  

Candidate must have experience developing plans for and implementing technical solutions to end users utilizing virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).  

Candidate must have experience working with sophisticated Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) systems in support of end users. ServiceNow experience would be a plus.

Candidate must have experience developing contract requirements for and managing vendor contracts in excess of $2M annually.  

Candidate must have experience developing and managing budgets in excess of $5M annually.   

The deal candidate must:

Possess a strong technical consulting/customer service background, as well as excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.  

Have the ability to handle operational issues effectively, understand escalation, communication, and crisis management.  

Be capable of collaborating with key stakeholders in developing technical solutions which meet customer needs and result in financial efficiencies.
