Main Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for management and operations of all aspects of the Department's physical and virtual server and data storage environments. The Department's physical and virtual server infrastructure supports statewide services by supporting all of DoIT operating programs (Web Systems, Networks, Applications, EIS), state agencies receiving full IT support from DoIT (DBM, Executive Office of the Governor, MEMA) and other Executive Branch agency requiring enterprise class server/storage solutions. This is a management service position that will serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer information technology, management information systems or other information technology related field, to include course work in local or wide area computer networks, from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Minimum of seven years of experience planning, integrating, and maintaining server and storage hardware (and associated software) in a multi-location environment supporting a wide range of constituents. Experience with virtual environments and shared storage area networks a must. Applicant should be certified as a Certified Microsoft System Administrator and have advanced training in VMware and vSphere installation and configuration.
