Introduction

This is a Position Specific Recruitment for the Wicomico County Department of Social Services, located in Salisbury, Maryland, which is approximately 145 miles from the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan area.

Main Purpose of Job

This position serves as the Services Division Security Monitor; manages employees' access to data systems, performs background clearances for Personnel, Resource and Project Home Unit and external requests; inputs data in the Client Information System (CIS) Data System for Emergency Services Intake, Adult Services, and the Rental Allowance Program, and maintains the Service Vendors in Maryland's Children's Electronic Social Services Information Exchange (CHESSIE); provides switchboard coverage for agency and clerical support to the Services Division; coordinates all case submissions to the Adult Guardianship Review Board and Adult Service Data Reports to the Social Services Administration (SSA).

POSITION DUTIES

1. Maintain CHESSIE, CIS and all other data system compliance as directed by Local, State, Federal, and Council on Accreditation policies and procedures.

2. Provide administrative support for the Services Division as directed by local, state, federal and council on accreditation policies and procedures.

3. Provide professional communications coverage for the Services Division and other areas of the agency as requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.

Experience: One year of experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute experience as defined above for the required education at the rate of one year of experience for 30 credit hours, for up to 60 credit hours of required education.

2. Candidates may substitute 90 credit hours at an accredited college or university for the required education and experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Experience working in a Child & Adult Welfare Services Office.

Experience using CIS/CHESSIE.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

Limited to candidates willing to accept employment in Salisbury, Maryland.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
