This position will serve as the Project Director for the Medication Assisted Treatment -Prescription Drug and Opioid Addiction (MAT-PODA) grant. MAT-PODA is a three year $2.4 million SAMHSA initiative that seeks to enhance existing Medication Assisted Treatment services and expand access to treatment and recovery support services to individuals at high-risk for overdose due to their prescription drug use or opioid addiction. The Project Director will be responsible for fiscal and administrative management, oversight of the implementation of the grant, and on-going activities of the project to include supervision of program staff; ensuring the completion of all grant deliverables, monitoring and reporting on jurisdictional adherence with required performance measures, and responding to complaints or concerns related to the project. The incumbent will be responsible for analyzing program data and working collaboratively with jurisdictional implementation teams and other state and local stakeholders to effectively utilize project resources and to maintain an integrated service delivery system, promote public health, sustained recovery and safety for service recipients, families and communities. In addition, this position will also be responsible for coordination of all staff efforts to eliminate fraud, waste, and abuse, as well as completing the annual continuation of SAMHSA grant support applications and all other fiscal and program related reports.

Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling or a related field.

Experience: Five years of professional experience in health services, two years of which must have been in the option for which application is made.

Notes: 1. Applicants may substitute a master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a health or human service field for one year of the required general experience.

2. Experience in the option must be as follows: professional work related to treatment and services for persons with alcohol or other substance abuse addiction.

3. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field plus one additional year of professional experience in health services may be substituted for the specific degree.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

The desired candidate should have experience in managing addiction services in outpatient, residential, and opioid treatment program settings.
