Main Purpose of Job

The Contractual Data Entry Operator II is the full performance level of work keying large amounts of data from source documents into a computer or onto magnetic tape or disk according to a production schedule. The main purpose of this position is to be responsible for receiving, sorting and date stamping incoming mail, data entry into different databases, answering and recording messages and forwarding them to appropriate individuals. This position is also responsible for sorting and scanning documents.  Other duties may include entering productivity figures on Excel Spread sheets in order to produce productivity reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:  One year of experience keying large amounts of alpha, numeric or symbolic data from source documents into a computer or onto magnetic tape or disk according to a production schedule.

NOTE:

Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or in Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the clerical support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

The successful candidate should be an energetic person who will thrive in a fast paced environment with the ability to be a team player and able to use a computer, copier, fax machine, scanner and printer.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

1.  Candidates must demonstrate the ability to keyboard at forty words per minute on a standard keyboard or one hundred keystrokes per minute on data entry equipment.

2.  Employees in this classification must meet production standards established by the employing agency.
