Main Purpose of Job

The VPI worker will provide intensive supervision and community-based services to youth under DJS supervision who have been identified as being at high-risk for violence.

POSITION DUTIES

To provide supervision and service to youth in the Violence Prevention Unit.

On-call 24 hours per day 7 days a week.

Requires valid drivers license.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: Graduation from a standard high school, or possession of a high school equivalence

certificate.  

EXPERIENCE: 1 year of full time experience supervising youth in a structured environment, such as a

1 year of full time experience supervising youth in a structured environment, such as a

recreation center of school setting

SELECTION PROCESS

This position is subject to the Correctional Services Article, Title 8, which

requires compliance with the Maryland Correctional Training Commission’s

selection/training standards; therefore the candidate will be required to receive

a drug test, background check and physical/mental health exam.
