Main Purpose of Job

The Contractual Administrative Specialist II is the full performance level of administrative work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies.  The purpose of this position is to function as a support person to the senior Licensure staff.  The incumbent will support the Licensure Division in meeting their management for result goals by entering required information from applications into the BPQA system, identify credentials/miscellaneous documents received by preparing labels with the names of analyst, the type of document received with the date/time received and affix to the back of the application and credentials.  The employee will utilize tracking system, assign application to licensure analysts and distribute folders to analyst, conduct initial analysis and interpretation of results of disciplinary reports extracted from the websites to the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB), the National Practitioners Databank/Healthcare Integrity and Protection Data Bank (NPDB/HIPDB), American Medical Association (AMA), the BPQA Compliance Tracking System, Public Order and Charging Document log books.  The successful applicant should be detailed oriented and be able to communicate verbally with applicants.  Experience with licensure applications and credentials is desirable.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:    Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.

Experience:  One year of experience in administrative or professional work.

NOTES:

1.  Candidates may substitute experience as defined above for the required education at the rate of one year of experience for 30 credit hours, for up to 60 credit hours of required education.

2.  Candidates may substitute 90 credit hours at an accredited college or university for the required education and experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
