Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of the position is to: review consumer charts; obtain and interpret psychological evidence; contact the consumers and or the treating source and assess the need for further evaluation by the WTC psychiatrist to clear for participation in a WTC program. It also provides psychological support to the DORS consumers participating in programs at WTC and provide education to the consumers as well as staff.

POSITION DUTIES

Review and interpret psychological evidence; analyze the sufficiency of psychological evidence to evaluate disabilities; contact the treating sources including the Primary care physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, as well as the case workers, family and the consumer as appropriate. Render psychological interpretation of variations in behaviors of the consumers, Render decision on collaboration with the WTC Psychiatrists as well as Medical Director regarding appropriateness for admission and need for further assessment. Provide supportive therapy and ongoing counseling services to consumer and the family. Provide diagnostic assessments to evaluate the psychological and psychiatric stability of the DORS consumers to participate in any program at WTC. Provide continuing education to the consumers as well as the staff of WTC.

MINIMUM EDUCATION OR GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Education:   Determined by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Psychologists under the licensing requirements for Psychologists.  

Experience:   Two years of experience rendering psychological services or engaged in psychological research after receipt of the License as a Psychologist.    

License:  A photocopy of the current license must be faxed to our office when application is submitted.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to interpret medical evidence to establish severity, onset and duration of medical evidence and records; ability to analyze the sufficiency of psychological and psychiatric data; ability to explain complex medical and programmatic issues as they relate to the DORS consumers and provide consultation and training to the consumers and the staff of WTC.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

Work Hours must be 12.30PM to 5.30PM, Monday through Thursday each week.
