Main Purpose of Job

This is advanced level work in rehabilitation services within the Business Support Services Income Unit of the Division of Rehabilitation Services.

POSITION DUTIES

This position is responsible for the DORS Social Security Reimbursement Program. This includes: obtaining and interpreting consumer SSDI and/or SSI benefit verification reports and wage documentation; preparing Social Security Reimbursement Claims; maintaining records and reports; conducting DORS Ticket procedures; training and advising DORS staff in regard to the reimbursement program and the Ticket To Work.

MINIMUM EDUCATION OR GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

(Rehabilitation Services)

Education : Possession of a Master’s Degree in a related rehabilitation field or 36 graduate hours in Rehabilitation Counseling or a closely related field is required.

Experience: Two years of experience as a DORS Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist II is required. This must include experience providing rehabilitation counseling, vocational evaluation or employer relations services for DORS consumers with physical or mental disabilities; or teaching services to clients with partial or total visual impairment. Two year of experience must be in the Division of Rehabilitation Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist II.

 

(Disability Determination Services, Claim Examiner )

Education : Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree

Experience: Two years of required experience must include specialized experience in the adjudication or processing of Social Security Disability claims.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Prior experience with Social Security Disability Insurance, Supplemental Security Income, the Ticket To Work, Benefits Counseling and/or preparation of claims is preferred.
