Summary Statement

The position will assist the Chief of Interpretation, Project Manager, Interpretive Communications Specialist, and Statewide Interpretive Specialist with research, major project development, tracking and coordination, publication development and distribution, and other duties as assigned.  This position will be responsible for supporting programs and initiatives that will increase the public’s awareness of their surrounding environment and foster the appreciation, enjoyment and utilization of Delaware State Parks.

Essential Functions

Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all position in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class.  Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.

  • Develops forms, records and reports to document progress of projects.
  • Creates spreadsheets and databases to track exhibits, trainings, projects, and programs.
  • Conducts historical, cultural and natural resource research to support wayside and exhibit development. Evaluates needs and collects estimates for project materials and services.
  • Locates and recommends contractors to complete projects within project budgets and deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze and organize data.
  • Ability to create systems for the tracking and streamlining projects.
  • Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  1. One year experience in interpreting rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  2. One year experience using Microsoft Office Programs including Outlook, Excel, and Publisher.
  3. Possession of a valid driver's license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
