Summary Statement

The incumbent plans and supervises the Recovery Academy Clinical Processes. Develop treatment plan interventions, working with Recovery Academy staff creating bi-weekly treatment plan updates, presenting clinical observation on a client’s regression and/or progression during interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and overseeing the Recovery Academy Assessment process.  The incumbent facilitates group therapy sessions, attends departmental meetings, collects client census data and works with Activity Supervisors on improving clinical deficiencies. The incumbent conducts staff trainings and provides admission and discharge updates to the department as needed.

Preferred Qualification

Applicants who do not possess the preferred qualification will still be eligible to compete for this position if job requirements are met.

  1. Possession of a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Delaware mental health license.
  2. Possession of a Certified Behavioral  Analyst certification (BCBA).

  • Administers treatment, applying knowledge of applicable therapy discipline. 
     
  • Plans and prepares written treatment plans based on evaluation of individual's data.
      
  • Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatment to achieve maximum benefit.
        
  • Instructs, motivates and assists individuals in performance of various activities and use of support devices.
         
  • Instructs individuals, their families and other treatment staff in treatment procedures.
         
  • Prepares records and reports on individual's progress.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Therapist IV
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Possession of a Bachelors degree or higher.
  2. At least three years experience providing professional therapy services.
  3. Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through course work, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others; OR supervising staff which may include planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others; OR supervising through subordinate supervisors a group of professional, technical, and clerical employees.
  4. Certified Music Therapist by the Certified Board for Music Therapists or eligible for certification.
