Summary Statement

The Indian River Marina seasonal maintenance position is responsible for marina grounds keeping, maintenance and upkeep of cottages and docks. Duties will include caring for various plants around marina grounds, examining and repairing all issues with cottages and inspecting docks for proper conditions.  This is a seasonal position which includes weekends and holidays.

Essential Functions

Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class.   • Performs grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, landscape bed maintenance and overall upkeep of marina plants, trash removal, vegetation removal, leaf removal and snow/ice removal.
  • Performs maintenance and upkeep of cottages and docks.
  • Operation of landscaping equipment and use of hand and power tools.
  • Performs inspection of docks.
  • Maintains good public relations with park visitors and staff.
  • Must demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.
  • Maintains a positive attitude.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Experience using landscaping equipment and hand or power tools.
  2. Six months experience in routine building maintenance.
  3. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  4. Possession of a valid driver’s license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).

Conditions of Hire

Selection Process
