Summary Statement

The seasonal aquatic vegetation control technician will be responsible for assisting the Conservation Technician Manager and other staff engaged in aquatic vegetation control on state managed ponds and with maintaining Fish and Wildlife areas, equipment maintenance and mowing. 

Essential Functions

  • Operates and maintains aquatic weed harvester, boats, vehicles, and other equipment.
  • Assists in maintenance/repair of buildings and equipment shops.
  • Maintains accurate records as needed.
  • Must demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Knowledge of operating and maintaining marine vessels.
  3. Knowledge of operating and maintaining landscaping and ground keeping equipment.
  4. Knowledge of invasive species identification and management.
  5. Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
