Summary Statement

The incumbent in this position will plan, coordinate and conduct religious services such as communions, confessions, baptisms and funerals. The incumbent will also plan and schedule religious programs and instruction for residents regardless of denomination; counsel individuals and families as necessary; ensure moral and spiritual support on a consistent basis; encourage, develop and supervise volunteer religious programs and participate with other staff professionals to provide holistic care.

  • Plans, coordinates, and conducts religious services such as communion, confession, weddings, baptisms and funerals.
     
  • Plans and schedules religious programs and instruction provided by community volunteers.
     
  • Counsels individuals and families on a regular basis and in times of crisis.
     
  • Ensures moral and spiritual support on a consistent and emergency basis.
     
  • Maximizes benefits of volunteer programs.
     
  • Participates with other staff professionals to provide holistic care.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Chaplain II
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Possession of a Masters degree or higher in Divinity or related field.
  2. Possession of a ecclesiastical endorsement by a recognized religious denomination and approval by that body for institutional ministry.
  3. Six months experience in clinical or institutional pastoral work.
  4. Six months experience in individual or group counseling.

Conditions of Hire

Pre-employment Drug Testing:  Upon a conditional offer, you must undergo pre-employment drug testing as part of the hiring process.

Criminal background check:  A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire.  The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.
