Summary Statement

This position performs biological sampling, management, research and reporting information related to fisheries management.  Applicants must be available to work weekends, evenings and holidays as scheduled

Essential Functions

  • Provides technical support in studies, surveys, inspections and research projects. 
  • Collects field samples and data. 
  • Assists in fish aging methods.
  • Operates and maintains vehicles, boats and sampling equipment.  
  • Assists in data entry.
  • Maintains records and reports detailing daily activities. 
  • Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.
  • Performs other related work as required.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Biological Aide

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following area:  

  1. Must be 18 years of age.
  2. Knowledge of operating and maintaining marine vessels.
  3. Knowledge of biological field sampling.
  4. Knowledge of invasive species identification and management.
  5. Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
