The mission of the Delaware State Parks Conservation Corps is to engage youth in important conservation and park projects while providing learning that fosters teamwork, self-esteem, social responsibility and respect for the environment.
DSPCC Core components include:
· Practical job work experience
· Environmental education and experiences
· Job and/or college preparation.
Multiple positions are available statewide. Summer youth employment positions for young people aged 16 – 21 years of age with the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Division of Parks and Recreation. All positions are seasonal positions working 28 hours per week June 19 – August 11, 2017.
Consideration will also be given to students who are unable to adhere to these dates as a result of snow days and school schedule in June.
Focused on park projects, members work in a specific park conducting work under the supervision of the park professional staff. Work will be in either Visitor Services or Grounds/Maintenance positions focused on providing services to help ensure safe, accessible opportunities for visitors. Visitor Services Job assignments include customer service work in park offices, retail outlets, boat houses, fee booths, campgrounds or other park service areas.
Grounds/Maintenance positions may include physical work assisting on grounds, maintenance, or other park specific tasks.
