Thank you for your interest in the position of Policy Director.  Your completed response to this supplemental questionnaire will be evaluated to determine your qualifications and must be completed properly in order to be given full consideration for the next phase in the selection process.  Responses should be thorough and specific, yet concise and succinct.  A lack of adequate detail in the supplemental questions and in your application may result in failure or disqualification for this recruitment.  Neatness, clarity of expression, grammar, spelling and the ability to follow instructions will be considered in the evaluation process.  A resume will not be accepted as a substitute for a thoroughly completed employment history and supplemental responses.  It is advisable that the answers to the supplemental questions are specifically reflective of the information listed on your application.


 

Please describe your increasingly responsible, full-time, paid administrative experience in the evaluation of or planning for the delivery of social services or health care services in a county services agency, social planning, or community organization.

 

Please describe a recent policy you developed or a strategic response to a state or Federal policy based upon new or updated legislation. Be sure to include the following details:

  • The steps you took to analyze and better understand the impacts of the legislation for your organization.   
  • The methodology you used to communicate your findings and progress toward implementing your recommended changes. 
  • The challenges you face.
  • The resulting outcome.
 

Give us an example of a time when you established specific evaluation and performance standards for a project you were responsible for leading.  Describe the process you used and how you tracked and measured success.  Be sure to also include the final results of the projects outcome.

 

Tell us about a recent communication strategy that you designed and produced intending to convey a highly technical message to a non-technical audience. What methodology did you use to ensure clarity and precision for the communication? What was the result?

 

Tell us about a strategy you have recommended to leadership in order to eliminate, reduce or overcome your organization’s exposure to a particular liability.  How did you become aware of the liability?  What was your process for evaluating options and recommending alternative solutions?

 

A critical role of the Policy Director is to develop relationships with stakeholders within the organization and the community as well as the State and Federal levels in order to improve understanding, communication, awareness and implementation of public policy decisions. Give us an example of how you have built and managed relationships in order to leverage the accomplishment of mutual policy directives.
