The Position

The DoIT Law & Justice Support Unit has a current vacancy for a Systems Analyst (Senior). This advanced journey level position works alongside an existing IT Team Member in the overseeing, implementation and coordination of technology in the Probation Department.  The Systems Analyst (Senior) is responsible for recommending technology solutions as appropriate to ensure compatibility of existing software applications and provide Project Management for technology projects to improve efficiency in the Probation Department.

If you are interested in assisting with Public Safety from behind the scenes, this may be the opportunity you have been looking for.  The DoIT Law & Justice Support Unit is looking for someone to work alongside an existing Team Member to deploy technology in the Probation Department.  You will be responsible for working with software vendors and providing Project Management as we seek ways to improve efficiency in the Probation Department with technology.

The eligible list created as a result of this recruitment will be used to fill full-time and part-time regular, limited-term or extra-help positions as vacancies occur throughout the County.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience:

Pattern A:  Two (2) years of experience performing progressively responsible journey level systems analysis work AND a Bachelor's degree is required from an accredited college or university in information technology, management information systems, or a closely related field

OR

Pattern B:  Five (5) years of experience performing progressively responsible programming duties and functions to include at least two (2) years of responsible systems analysis  AND equivalent to an Associate’s degree in information technology, management information systems, or closely related field

OR

Pattern C:  Five (5) years of experience performing progressively responsible programming duties and functions to include at least two (2) years of responsible systems analysis AND one hundred twenty (120) hours of designated coursework and/or certification training.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class C California driver's license may be required of designated positions.

 

Independent travel is required.

 

Incumbents are required to work outside normal business hours including nights, week‑ends, holidays, and on an emergency basis, as needed.

BENEFITS

Solano County offers a cafeteria-style medical package with health benefits, offered through CalPERS. The County contribution for family coverage for the 2016 calendar year is $1,455.62 per month. The County offers a cash back provision for those who choose employee-only or who waive medical insurance coverage.

Dental and vision insurances for the employee and eligible dependents are paid 100% by the County.    

Solano County participates in CalPERS retirement and contributes to Social Security.    

Vacation is accrued at approximately 10 days per year for the first 3 years.

Sick leave accrues at approximately 12 days per year.  

The County observes 12 fixed, paid holidays per year.    

Employees are eligible to receive an additional 2.5% longevity pay, per level, after the completion of continuous service at 10, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years.

Veterans Preference Points
