The Staff Analyst (Senior) performs the most complex analytical professional level staff work in support of departmental operations, programs, and/or services. Duties include reviewing, analyzing, auditing and monitoring budgets, expenditures, contracts, and other items; planning, coordinating, and conducting complex analytical studies involving operations and programs of an assigned department/division in order to develop and/or improve systems and procedures; overseeing and participating in professional level work involving fiscal management, financial analysis, billing/collections, analysis of laws and policies, regulatory compliance, implementation of policies/procedures, and/or contract management and compliance.
The eligible list created as a result of this recruitment will be used to fill full-time and part-time regular, limited-term or extra-help positions as vacancies occur throughout the County.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Experience: Two (2) years of experience as a Staff Analyst or its equivalent in a public or private agency, to include experience involving office administration, accounting, personal computer operations, and specific experience involving area of assignment (such as financial/budget analysis, budget administration, auditing, cost accounting, contract management, human resources administration, safety/risk management, program coordination, and/or supervision).
Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required from an accredited college or university, preferably in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, or closely related field.

Solano County offers a cafeteria-style medical package with health benefits, offered through CalPERS. The County contribution for family coverage for the 2016 calendar year is $1,455.62 per month. The County offers a cash back provision for those who choose employee-only or who waive medical insurance coverage. Employees enrolled in Employee plus Two or More coverage receive a $50/month supplemental County contribution into the cafeteria plan.
Dental and vision insurances for the employee and eligible depends are paid 100% by the County.
Solano County participates in CalPERS retirement and contributes to Social Security.
Vacation is accrued at approximately 10 days per year for the first 3 years.
Sick leave accrues at approximately 12 days per year.
The County observes 12 fixed, paid holidays per year.
Effective July 1 of each year, employees are granted 80 hours of Administrative Leave.
Employees are eligible to receive an additional 2.5% longevity pay, per level, after the completion of continuous service at 10, 20, 25, 30, and 35 years.
