The Position

This is a General Services Department promotional recruitment and is open to current Solano County General Services Department employees only. 

 

This position will be responsible for lead work checking and overseeing the activities of an assigned crew of custodians which may be working in several different buildings located in the same general geographical area. Employees in this class handle routine day-to-day work problems independently, keeping the supervisor aware of crew activities and work problems encountered.  

 

The current vacancy exists in the General Services Department for a regular full-time position.  

 

The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill part-time and full-time regular, limited-term or extra-help positions as vacancies occur or the need arises.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 

Experience: Considerable recent custodial experience which demonstrates possession of and competency in requisite knowledge, skills and abilities.

 

Typical qualifying experience would be: One year of recent cusdodial experience which demonstrates possession of and competency in requisite knowledge, skills and abilities;

 

AND

 

License: Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license is required;

 

AND

 

Other: Must be a current Solano County General Services Department employee.

BENEFITS

n Employees are eligible to receive an additional 2.5% longevity pay, per level, after the completion of continuous service at 10, 20, 25, and 30 years.

8/19/15 - Tentative date for Oral Board interviews.

Independent travel is required.
 
Incumbents must be able to perform heavy manual labor associated with custodial tasks; which may include lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds; exposure to an environment in which chemical fumes may exist; and involve working with a full range of body movement involving reaching, bending, grasping and climbing.
