SALARY: $1830.40 to $2226.40 bi-weekly (approximately
$3965 -$4823 per month)

This examination is being given to fill one vacancy at San
Joaquin General Hospital and to establish an eligible list to fill future
vacancies.
TYPICAL DUTIES: The Physical Therapist II performs a
variety of physical therapy services including assessment, planning, treatment,
related documentation and communication. Initially, incumbents work under
immediate supervision, but as experience is gained they may exercise more
latitude and judgment and may be assigned to mentor less experienced physical
therapists and/or students. Supervision is received from higher level Physical
Therapists. Performs physical therapy evaluations and interprets finding; plans
and implements physical therapeutic treatments for patients; establishes
appropriate treatment goals; uses equipment properly; coordinates treatment
programs with physicians, nurses, professional and para-professional staff; may
mentor less experienced Physical Therapists and/or student interns; attends
staff meetings and patient conferences; participates in inservice and staff
development classes; maintains accurate records and prepares written reports.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Licenses and Certificates: Current licensure as a Physical Therapist by
the State of California. (Copy
of license must be attached to application.)
Knowledge of: Current principles, methods,
techniques, equipment and materials used in physical therapy; possible reactions
of and hazards to patients during treatment and of precautionary and remedial
measures; anatomy and physiology related to treatments; psychological and
physiological problems of persons with disabling conditions.
Ability to: Organize and implement physical
therapy treatment programs; teach techniques of treatment in specialty areas;
conduct individual and group treatment programs; interpret and adapt physician
orders and/or written reports; communicate effectively; establish and maintain
cooperative working relationships with patients, families, staff and others;
maintain excellent customer relations; perform essential physical/mental
requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, including but not
limited to: standing for long periods, walking, pushing, pulling, bending and
lifting patients, good manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, decision-making
and problem-solving skills.
