Will Conduct a Special Training Program for
readySC™ , Tri-County Technical College and First Quality Tissue® have partnered to conduct a special training program for employment opportunities which will exist at First Quality's Anderson, SC plant. Training applications are currently being accepted for the following position:
Utility Technician
This position is a shift hourly leadership role with primarily responsibilities for the operation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and maintenance of the mill's utility functions. This position will lead a team in the high performance work process for the utilities area.
- Maintains operations for boilers, air compressors, chillers, air washers, scrubbers, air rotation units, make-up air units, wastewater treatment facility, feed water supply equipment and fire suppression system.
- Monitors all control panels in the utility control room.
- Monitor and adjust chemical additions for optimum boiler, air compressor, and chiller performance.
- Responsible for all South Carolina environmental compliance testing and report generation per shift.
- Enters work orders, identify parts and equipment and schedules work to ensure all equipment is properly maintained according to the preventative maintenance schedule.
- Communicates with supervisors and other departments to inform to them of changes in utility status.
- Maintains complete and accurate records of preventative maintenance and utility operations.
- Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts.

Classes will be held during morning and/or evening hours at Tri-County Technical College

Additional Success Skills Needed:
- Demonstrates Leadership Skills in the management of utilities area high performance work team.
- Strong understanding of utility operations and maintenance procedures.
- Strong mechanical, troubleshooting skills, and process aptitude.
- Maintain certification for operating heavy mobile equipment
- Ability to work with Microsoft Office products.
